Go figure, that ND and OSU were both on the "Luckiest" list.

Which is what I've said, at least about Notre Dame, all alone. Not to mention Michigan as well. It's always nice to find people backing you up. I honestly believe Michigan is the best team in the nation with an 8-4 record.

In defense of ND and OSU.....

You'll almost always find cases of a championship team getting lucky at some point during the season. There is always that one or two close calls that teams have throughout a season.

And in Michigan and MSU's cases being unlucky: Phil Steele does a similar analysis each year, where he looks at a teams turnover differential. I recall that in 2010, Michigan had a negative TO differential (like -8), and in 2011 they had a huge increase onto the positive side of the equation (IIRC it was double digit numbers). Steele speculated that the 2011 + TO would regress back the the median, and Michigan would lose more than games in 2012 than in 2011. It's not the same as "luck", but I do feel that they are very similar.....because often an INT or Fumble recovery can be lucky.

Whenever a team goes undefeated, you can always look back and find a spot or two where they got "lucky". Every team gets lucky bounces, it's just a matter of being good enough to not let the other teams' luck beat you.

All I see is Michigan State at #1, not paying ESPN to see the rest.

Ok St. second I think, Michigan 3rd.

I also wouldn't call it "unlucky" so much as I'd call it getting screwed by refs in MSU's case.
